We cold barrel aged our house Czech dark lager in 3rd use bourbon barrels. We gave them 4-1/2 months to rest and soak up the American oak character. The outcome has us all enjoying a session-able barrel aged lager.
Pours a tan head that leaves lacing down glassware. Notes of cola, vanilla and soft oak chips on the front of the palate. Mid-body with a snappy finish. Some bakers chocolate, sweet tea and bourbon follows thru. Great for the cold weather without weighing you down.
